Project FS Lužická Nisa

Funded by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund, project number CCI 2004/CZ/16/C/PE/004, and by the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic and by its own resources of Severočeská vodárenská společnost a.s. Teplice.

At its inception, the company took over extensive infrastructure assets burdened by the large ecological debt from the past. The primary task was the completion of sewerage systems and the construction of sewage treatment plants. An extensive investment program, in which the company used the financial and subsidy resources of the state budget, subsidies from the European Union (ISPA, Cohesion Fund) and the Federal Ministry of the Environment of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMU) in addition to own funds, allowed the construction of decisive water treatment capacities. These activities led to a significant improvement in the purity of the rivers not only in the north of Bohemia but also in neighboring border regions.
